To Friends of Parks and open spaces groups in Brighton & Hove

Hi,

We're holding one of our regular 'Your Space' conferences for local community groups on Tuesday 23 February in the evening (5-9pm, workshops from 6.45pm). One of the workshops 'Park life' is to look at parks and children & young people with a focus on the Playbuilder programme which is developing play spaces in 22 parks across the city. We also want to provide an opportunity to bring groups together to share their experiences and plans.  We'd be delighted if you could attend.  We're also looking for groups who could do a short 5-minute presentation about their park and projects they';ve done to involve or provide for the needs of children and young people.

Please let me know if you'd be able to contribute in this way or get in touch so we can discuss this further.

If another person in your group may be interested or able to come, I'd be grateful if you could forward this information on to them.

I've attached a programme for the evening for your information.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Duncan Blinkhorn,
Development Manager - CYP

Brighton youth club angry at funding decision

A successful youth club may have to close many of its projects due to lack of funding.

The Crew Club in Whitehawk, Brighton, set up ten years ago following the fatal stabbing of Jay Kensett, has more than 400 members aged seven to 16.

But its organisers are stunned after being knocked back in an initial application for a £25,000 grant from Brighton and Hove City Council.
